Faculty Enhancement
Marquette entrusts our students to a faculty of unquestioned excellence and commitment. Gifts to the Marquette Fund help the university retain and attract bright faculty members who excel both as teachers and as respected researchers.
About $1 million has been allocated each of the past two years to help make Marquette's faculty salaries more competitive and to prevent talented teachers and researchers from leaving for higher paying positions at other institutions. These increases are directly attributable to annual gifts to the Marquette Fund. Maintaining competitive salary levels will require continued significant support through annual gifts to the Marquette Fund.
TECHNICAL RESOURCES
Gifts to the Marquette Fund provide crucial funding for upgrades in the university's technical resources. Donors' gifts provide:
- computer labs for classroom use and student access;
- telephones and voice mail service in student residence halls;
- free student access to virus protection software;
- student on-line access to financial records, class registration
and academic records through CheckMarq;
- faculty and student access to the Internet2 research network;
- course management software permitting faculty to post online syllabi,
lesson guides and other information.
DIRECT SUPPORT TO KEY STUDENT PROGRAMS
- Marquette campus safety programs;
- crucial support for research projects that might otherwise cease for
lack of bridge funds between grant periods;
- continued availability and an expansion of student extracurricular
activities and local and international service projects;
- crucial student affairs programs;
- establishment of discernment and faith-based programs to deepen
students' experiences
of faith.
